WILLIAMSPORT - Daiton Thompson scored a career-high 38 points, including 34 in the final three quarters and 12 in the fourth, to lift the St. John Neumann boys varsity basketball team to a 64-57 win over Wellsboro Monday night. Thompson, the area's leading scorer averaging more than 20 points per game, went for a career high for the third time in three weeks and helped the Knights (9-6) close on a 20-14 run.
Jahki Brister pitched in 12 points, Legend Dillard added nine, including two clutch free throws, and Avery Taddeo's corner 3-pointer with under a minute remaining clinched Neumann's sixth straight victory.
The Knights get back into action tonight, Jan. 20, when they head to CMVT. JV tips at 6 p.m.
